Each calendar year Hampshire has traditionally held Championship road races at each major set distance: 5 miles, 10 km, 10 miles, half-marathon and marathon. After a few years trial with the marathon event, in 2013 we opened up the results to include all races, effectively transforming the Championships to become Best Performance times for Hampshire athletes.
To be eligible to compete, each athlete must have been born in Hampshire or resident in the county for the prior 9 months. Prizes are awarded for the overall winner, male and female, and to the winners in age bands for veteran/masters runners (where there are sufficient numbers competing in the band for the organiser to select from) and in any officially recognised race at the set distance.
In 2014 these rules will be refined. Please send any questions or comments about the Hampshire Championships to
The final list of Hampshire athletes' 2013 Best Performances is published here. Congratulations to all athletes who are listed, and to their clubs and coaches. A summary of the Best Performance times by distance and age category for men and women is shown below.
